Andy's First Open Air Preaching Experience

I went with Frank Rollberg, a friend from church. Here is the URL to Frank's blog.

http://wwwsavedbygrace.blogspot.com/ <--(Click Here) This is the first time I went with Frank and actually preached something to completion. Since, I have been back once with Frank. God gave us boldness and wisdom. If you have witnessed (which all Christians should do) but have never preached open air, I would suggest trying it. It is unlike any other experience you will ever have sharing your faith. It is encouraging when you are done, having encouragers support you when you are done. In the Bible Belt, where we live (Muscle Shoals, Alabama), the heckling is sparse, if at all. Frank, from Chicago, has told stories of some irate crowds. But the truth stings the unregenerate, so we should expect them to get convicted, and that conviction to manifest itself in the form of anger. I hope this little bit encourages you to speak boldly the name of Christ. God Bless!

Facebook, The Internet, And Wasting Time

This video is a clip from the Tuesday morning internship by Paul Washer at our church. He was speaking to men, but it definitely applies to women as well. He talks about Facebook, the internet, magazines, etc. and how we really waste our time doing these things. I know I (Melissa) have been really guilty with being on Facebook, MySpace, the internet, and reading stupid magazine headlines, etc. in the past. I still fight the tendency to do those things too much. This is one of the reasons why we don't post nearly as often on our blogs. We just don't have the time to do it and would rather spend the time with our family, etc. Time is something we'll never get back and we often waste it on such pointless and trivial things. This short clip is convicting and straight to the point. Hope you enjoy it!

This video is called, "Get off Facebook, Be a Man by Paul Washer" and you can get it by clicking here.

Pro-life Video by a 12 Year Old Girl

This was a really neat video I found in my sermonaudio newsletter I got this week. By the way, sign up for those newsletters because you keep up on Christian news around the world and great sermons and videos.

This video is by a 12 year old girl who gave a speech in class on abortion. Her teacher was pro-choice. She did a really good job for a 12 year old.

You can get the video yourself here. You can read the article here.

Barabbas video by Caleb&Sol

This video called Barabbas was just sent to me from Sol of Caleb&Sol. He and his twin brother made it and it's really neat and has a very good gospel presentation in it. Hope you enjoy it! Here's their website link. http://calebandsol.com/ I haven't checked out all their stuff, so I can't say for sure whether I endorse everything, but so far so good!

You can watch the video here as well.

Paul Washer Speaking on Missions and a Q&A Session Afterwards

In the beginning of this video, Paul Washer speaks about how Heartcry got started, and about Biblical missions and what it should really look like, which contrasts starkly with what most have in their mind of what missions is about. Is it more than just sending a bunch of teenagers with matching T-shirts off on a week and a half trip overseas, coming back with great reports of many being saved? What kind of effect are we REALLY having overseas anyways? I (Melissa) have personally been on 4 mission trips, with 3 of them being overseas and I couldn't agree with Paul more when he speaks of modern missions. We have strayed so far from what it should be. If you have a heart for missions, are already a missionary, or want to be one some day, I highly recommend you listening to at least the beginning of this video. I wish someone had shared these things with me a long time ago.

During the following Q&A session, Paul answers questions about what is really going on in China. We hear reports of thousands getting saved every day. What's the real story?

He answers how to handle a situation where you believe someone isn't saved, and you have shared the gospel with them over and over again. What do you do? Do you give up or keep persisting?

He speaks of Biblical assurance and the security of the believer. Can anyone REALLY know they are saved?

Towards the end, he goes on to speak of the Lord's discipline in our lives and more. I hope you will be blessed by watching this.
